Description
A well‑established Lower Middle Market Buyout Private Equity firm in the Washington, D.C. area is looking to add 1-2 Associates / Senior Associates to its investment team this summer.The firm has been operating successfully for several decades and invests under a generalist mandate. It offers a true career‑track opportunity and is known for strong employee tenure and a collaborative culture. With many consecutive years of strong performance, the firm is in an excellent position and looking to bring on additional talent to support continued growth.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and execute new investment opportunities across a broad range of industries
- Perform detailed financial modeling, valuation analysis, and diligence on potential acquisitions
- Support deal execution, including coordination with lenders, advisors, and management teams
- Assist with portfolio company monitoring, strategic initiatives, and value‑creation efforts
- Prepare investment memos and materials for internal investment committee discussions
- Work closely with senior investment professionals across all aspects of the investment lifecycle
Requirements
- Senior Associate: ~4+ years of experience across private equity and/or investment banking
- Associate: ~2 years of investment banking experience, with strong exposure to M&A transactions
- Strong financial modeling, analytical, and valuation skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast‑paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong academic background and demonstrated interest in private equity
The start date is flexible, though a summer start is preferred.
